June 32rd was Kevin’s and my 13th anniversary. To celebrate we gave Peter his first haircut. Bye bye curly locks. Now, to add the hair to the baby book!
We have two baby books. Both books have space to document the first haircut. Both have a spot for a picture and one has a small semi opaque envelope for a lock of hair. We have quite a lot of hair and I’d like to save it all. Plus, I’d like to be able to see it clearly without touching the hair. So, I made my own clear page to hold the hair. Here’s how I did it:
First, I got a clear sheet protector and cut off the side that would hold it into a binder. I trimmed it to be about an inch shorter than the baby book page width so I would have room to tape it in later.
Then, I measured the baby book’s page height, made a crease on the sheet protector at that heightand folded the open edge down.
Next, I used scissors to cut one side of this top flap off. I left one side attached so I could fold it over to hold the hair inside. I added the hair next, folded the top flap down and taped it with a piece of scotch tape.
Finally, I attached it to my book. To do this I aligned the page at the edges and used a strip of packing tape to secure it to the center of the spread.
Now we can see all of Peter’s beautiful hair on one clear page. Well, not all of it. I gave one curly lock to my mom.
